To be married at Saint Andrew's By-the-Sea, at least one or more of the following must apply:

  • One (or both) is a member or seasonal guest of St. Andrew's;
  • One (or both) of the couple is an Episcopalian;
  • One (or both) of the couple desire to become active members of Saint Andrew's by-the-Sea or of another Episcopal Church.

If none of the above applies, the couple may write to the Rector, explaining why they desire to be married at St. Andrew's and request special consideration. For example, one bride, who had not been raised Episcopalian, requested special consideration based on her parents having been married at St. Andrew's many years previously. Her request was granted.

All couples marrying at St. Andrew's must receive pre-marital counseling, either here at St. Andrew's or, if from out of town, at the church they regularly attend. If either the bride or groom has been divorced, the Bishop's consent is required.

For further information, please contact the Parish Administrator at the church office by phone; (252) 441-5382, by e-mail; administrator@saintandrewsobx.com or postal mail to the attention of the Parish Administrator, P.O. Box 445, Nags Head, NC 27959.

For your convenience, you may complete the on-line Application  (click here to launch the pdf application form to print or download) for Consideration of Holy Matrimony and return it to St. Andrew's via fax (252) 441-9445.

Please note, all dates are tentative until confirmed by one of the clergy at Saint Andrew's By-the-Sea.
